Architetto Italiano Conference entitled “the Vittoria square skyscraper”. Piero Galli spoke about Torrione, the first high rise building in Italy, one of the first concrete skyscraper in Europe (probably the second, after Kraftwerk Klingenberg of Berlin). In fact Torrione was built in Brescia between 1928 and 1932, opened by Benito Mussolini at November 2, 1932.  The style of Torrione is predominantly decò, with influences from Chicago School (the architect Piacentini was in U.S.A. in 1915 and partecipated to the Chicago Tribune Competition in 1922) and Europe/German Espressionism/Modernism…
